GELSON BRINGS ITS NEW PRODUCTS TO DB EXPO 2026

On 20 and 21 March, DB EXPO returns to Lariofiere, the leading event for professionals in the automotive repair and refinishing sector. Among the key exhibitors at the event will be Gelson, which will welcome visitors to stand A6 in Hall A with major new product launches and technical demonstrations.

The Thunder line expands with the new Mild Thunder

Among the innovations we will be showcasing at DB EXPO is the latest development in the Thunder line, which Gelson unveiled last year at Autopromotec.

The line is the result of meticulous research and development, focused on a specific goal: to optimise every stage of the polishing process without ever compromising the quality of the final result. The system has in fact been designed to offer efficient processing cycles, reducing operating times whilst maintaining high finishing standards.

The line, comprising Thunder Fill, Thunder Coat and Thunder Cut, is now being expanded with the introduction of a new abrasive paste: Mild Thunder, specifically formulated for use on fresh, not yet fully dried paintwork.

This new compound allows for more delicate and controlled polishing on freshly painted surfaces, whilst ensuring a uniform and brilliant finish. The formulation is designed to work effectively on the polyurethane clear coats used in bodywork, delivering deep gloss and reducing the risk of streaks during the final polishing stage.

With the introduction of Mild Thunder, the Thunder system is further enhanced, offering bodywork professionals an even more versatile range suited to a variety of working conditions.

The range of 2K spray cans is expanding

Another highlight of the Gelson stand will be the development of the two-component spray can range. Following the launch of the 1942 and 1945 2K sprays at last year’s Autopromotec, the range continues to evolve.

These products represent a significant step forward compared to traditional sprays: the two-component technology ensures greater elasticity, better adhesion to plastics and bumpers, and superior resistance to weathering and washing.

At DB EXPO 2026, the range is further expanded with new products such as CC16 and Z43 2K, developed to offer professionals increasingly comprehensive and high-performance solutions. Specifically, these are a glossy clear coat and a 2-in-1 epoxy primer, designed to ensure versatility and high performance, whilst maintaining the practicality and speed of application typical of spray products.

Minipad and stencil kit: precision for small repairs

Among the products visitors will be able to discover at stand A6 in Hall A is the Minipad and Template Kit, a solution designed to facilitate precision work during localised sanding operations.

The kit has been created to assist bodywork technicians in working on small surfaces or critical areas, offering tools that allow for greater control and accuracy. Thanks to the 3 different minipads and dedicated templates, it is possible to work precisely on specific, confined areas of the bodywork, such as: joints, critical points and hard-to-reach corners.

Alongside this system, the self-levelling pads will also be presented in the new 70×198 mm version, available in two variants: Green (Soft), ideal for primer work, and Red (Hard), perfect for filler. These solutions are designed to offer greater versatility during the sanding stages, which ensure better dust extraction and a cleaner working environment.

These solutions also form part of Gelson’s philosophy of offering complete systems, designed to improve operational efficiency and the quality of the final result.

Kovax: new products and practical demonstrations

The stand will also showcase the latest products from Kovax, for which Gelson is the exclusive importer in Italy. These are the Garuda sanding sheets, which will complement the sanding discs launched last year and which have already become one of the flagship products of the Kovax range, further expanding the range of applications.

In this context, Kovax’s special Airflow backing pad will also be presented, designed to ensure maximum performance and efficiency with both Garuda abrasive discs and Maxfilm multi-hole discs. The system ensures optimal dust extraction regardless of the disc’s hole pattern: there is no need to align the holes, resulting in improved cleanliness during operation and a significant reduction in abrasive clogging. The back pad also helps to extend the life of the abrasive disc.

On both days of the trade fair, product presentation sessions and live demonstrations will be organised for Kovax, offering visitors the chance to see the products in action and speak directly with Gelson’s technical staff.
